How Tropisphere came to be and who we are....
ANDREA DROST
When Andrea came to Costa Rica in 1997 on a break from her demanding PR-job, she fell head over heals in love with the
country. I traveled a lot in Asia and Australia and was always looking for another place to live. When I arrived here I knew instantly -
this is it!
Her Costa Rica born daughter makes her bond to the land even stronger. Her enthusiasm and honest love for the land and its people opened many
doors and soon she realized that she was in the unique position to serve as a bridge between land owner willing to sell and foreigners who shared her
fascination with this area and wanted to purchase property.
Nicoya Sur was born - a small real estate office in Cobano sharing space with a café.
Years later, when Kris and Rico walked into her café looking for a plot to build a house one thing lead to another and today the three have
joined forces in a new dynamic real estate venture, Tropisphere Real Estate of Costa Rica.
Andrea holds a degree in Business Administration. You can contact Andrea in English, Español and Deutsch. She can be reached at:

KRIS COOK-REOLON, B.A.
Kris was born in California but lived in Germany for 6 years at an early age. After her
graduation from Berkeley she worked in the corporate world as a marketing coordinator at a Venture Capitalist firm. Shortly
before the Dot Com bust, she sought less stressful work and became a certified massage therapist and ran her own business
in San Francisco for 4 years.
She first came to Costa Rica on a Green Tortoise tour in 1997. On her second trip to Costa Rica she came with a group of
UC Berkeley students to work on a research project with two expats in Quepos - Anthropologists from UC Berkeley with whom she also developed
a friendship. Kris was unaware at the time that they were friends with Rico. It took Dons passing away for the
two to finally meet and the rest is history.
Today she lives in Costa Rica with her husband and their two daughters who were both born here. Kris holds degrees in Geography
and Anthropology and is a certified massage therapist and Shiatsu practitioner. She brings to Tropisphere her marketing
skills and assists our English speaking clientele.

GEOFF MCCABE
Geoff was raised in Seattle, Washington, and graduated from The Evergreen
State College, in Olympia, before getting a Master's degree in Physics from the University of Central Florida.
After that, he started his first business ,Seventh Sense, designing
and selling jewelry and gift products, which gradually grew into a $6 million per year enterprise, manufacturing
in many countries in Asia, and selling worldwide. For three years during that time, he also owned and operated
a chain of 30 retail stores, called "The Mountain" which were based in the New England area.
He sold the company to his partner and moved to Costa Rica.
Geoff has been interested in real estate and the creation of communities since he was a child. His great grandfather built
the famous Mexican surf town of San Miguel in Baja California, where Geoff spent a lot of time when he was growing up.
His great, great grandfather, Robert McFadden, built a railroad and founded the town of Newport Beach, where McFadden Wharf
and McFadden Avenue are still named for him today. Geoff was raised on stories about these men, and has their experiences
in mind while living in Costa Rica and playing a part in the growth of the communities of Montezuma and Malpais.
Geoff has dedicated himself to the conservation of Costa Rica's wildlife and improving the lives of its poorer citizens.
He is immensely grateful to the people of Costa Rica for allowing he and his wife Karen to move to the most beautiful
country in the world and raise his daughter, Serafina, who was born here. He is a founder of
Rainsong Wildlife Sanctuary in Cabuya, which is working on reforesting and
protecting and reintroducing animal and bird species that have become extinct in our part of Costa Rica. He is also the
instigator of Tropisphere's policy of donating 10% of its commissions to local charities.
When not working on Tropisphere business, Geoff can be found searching the jungle for orchids, photographing birds, playing with
snakes or scorpions, working on his websites www.malpaisbeach.com and www.montezumabeach.com, learning to surf, playing
with his wife and daughter, or practicing firedancing.

RICO
REOLON
Rico
was born in Switzerland and immigrated to the United States
in 1984. ,br>
He first came to Costa Rica in 1992 and moved here in 1994 to build a house for his friends from San Francisco. He went back to the States in 1997
but could not really leave.
In the following years he earned a lot of frequent flyer miles going back and forth, consolidating his hold in Costa Rica while keeping his contracting
business in San Francisco generating income. When he met his future wife at the wake for an old friend from Quepos, it became clear, that
Costa Rica was going to have the last word and soon Kris and he started to plan their move. The changing political and
social climate in the US and the prospect of being able to raise their kids in paradise helped make up their minds and
they packed up everything.
Rico holds a degree in Economics and has been a General Contractor
in California for almost 20 years. You can contact Rico in
English, Español and Deutsch.
